Hello folks… We have added some new features to everyone’s resonantly updated website at the LMLV web.(1) Now when you and your followers are leaving a Reply or inserting a New Post, The Enter key on your computer will allow you to start a new line, witch means that you can now create real paragraphs. (2) All Replies and New Post aline to the left side of text box, making your site much more professional looking. (3) Everyone can now comment on all Photos, Artwork and Videos, in all the Galleries. (That’s Right Folks, The Beachcomber Music Awards #3 Is Almost Here) This year’s event is going to be Quite The Show, Feb. 22, starting around 8pm at the LA Lounge. We have a great line-up for you this year, with local acts such as Dread Clampitt, Heritage, Jones & Company, Forrest Williams Band, Boukou Groove, Chris Alvarado and many more! Blue Lew’s Groove will play after the final award presentation (11 p.m. or thereabouts) with a full-on jam session going ’til whenever! So come early and stay late. We were ready! Blue Lew, Jim Remsburg, Ted Cobena and I were all set to go with Butch Blasingame on electric guitar. We started out sweet but got hard and heavy real soon! Scott Noble and Austin Sachenbacher joined in on guitars and we rocked out for the first set! We were missing some of our “bird-buds”  but I knew that they had got that thing that’s been going around (I got it, too – that’s why I haven’t blurbed until today!) but most of them sent love and promises to be here next week. But, I gotta tell you, the folks that were there were having fun!

Jim and Ted had a Valentine’s Day gig with Scott Tansey and Rebecca Hope Akers, two of my favorite Jammers, so they were the next in line to play. Y’all know how much I love Ted and Jim, and how I feel about how talented Rebecca is, but when they get Scott into the mix, it’s just beautiful!!! They played lots of classic love songs and jazzy stuff, too. So very sweet and gooey! My Valentine’s Day Gift was getting to listen to them! All That we needed was chocolate! (Have you ever had a chocolate martini? ohhhh…)

My next extra sweet surprise was my very good friend, Sabrina McKinney! She is such a fine vocalist and acoustic guitarist! And I got the best news!!! She has re-joined with “New Fangled Theory”!!! LIMBO BE DAMNED!!! They are back up and running again!!! This group has won numerous Beachcomber Music Awards in the past two years and we’ve missed them since they went on hiatus – BUT THEY ARE BACK!!! Keep your ears open for them – hear them as soon as you can!!! And often! ‘nuf said… now if that wasn’t enough, Sabrina introduced me to her niece, Vicky Michaels, new here from St. Louis, and let me tell you, the lady can sing!!! She and Sabrina have that “family blending kind-a vocal sound” that just tickles your ears! And either one can pull off lead or back-up like nobody’s buisiness!!! I was tempted to sit in but why screw up perfection??? You WILL be hearing more from both of them!!!

The last set was full of everyone! John Hodge played some guitar, Vicky sang lead. Sabrina sang, too, Chuck Formes got on the drums and we all just revelled on eachother!!! So LUCKY to be part of all this MUSIC!!! It was all too fine! I want to thank everyone who was part of our night!!! Y’all put the heart in my Valentine!

I’m hoping that we’re all over whatever that was that knocked us in the ? last week…I’m feeling much better and hope my Birds are better, too! We need you to FLY, don’t you know! And thank you for sending the messages that you couldn’t be there…I love you, too…

Sunday should be spectacular!!! The “Blackwater” Guys say they’ll be there (see “News Flash”) and I’m always up for surprises!!! There’s no telling until we get there! Hope to see you, too!!!

Blue Lew, Ted and I are all nominated and since I’m sure that you voted …! Please come to the ceremony and you’ll hear some of the best music on the face of the planet!!! We are truly blessed to have so much musical talent in such a small space of the Emerald Coast!!! A musician needs an ear, just as a painter needs and eye, just as a heart needs a soul…we need all of you…as you appreciate us, we appreciate you…let’s face it…if nobody listened, no one would play…if nobody played, there would be no music…no music…no lullabyes, no Christmas Carols, no dancing…good grief!…the Irish learned how to dance without letting their heads move up and down at the bar so the bad guys wouldn’t arrest them for illegal dancing!!!!!!!!(My mom told me that…just watch a group of pro Irish dancers…).A world without music is a world without life. Birds sing, cats purr, dogs bark, snakes hiss, bears growl, coyotes howl,whales sing…my tone deaf brother sings!!! Very scary day in church…If you are a music lover, come and join us as we honor our best!!!
